Saturday Night Family Unity:
Lance House: Nancy and Nina cooked a fabulous Dominican dinner of beef guisado and then the girls played monopoly.
TKB: The boys made brownie ice cream sundaes and did kareoke. I hear that there was LOTS of laughing.
Sunday Afternoon:
Lance house hosted a slip-n-slide for local Dominican children (+ staff kids) and had a hair washing station. (I will post pictures of this in a separate blog in the near future!)
TKB house played basketball and lifted weights.
Monday Freeday:
Lance house had a quiet, lazy day. They had a late breakfast of biscuits and gravy and then played spades and did hair and make-up. They had orange chicken for dinner and watched the movie "What about Bob."
TKB boys picked up trash along a stretch of the road in Jarabacoa. They picked up ten 30 gallon containers of trash in about a 1 mile area! They had lunch in the park, and played basketball with Dominicans in town. Later in the evening, they played a good ol' fashioned game of hide-and-seek.

new photos: a lot of them
Dear Parents,
Easter photos are up as well as some other photos: please check out
the photos as I think you will like them a lot. Sorry it has been
some time but apparently something was wrong with the site.

Weekend Review May 14, 15, 16
Saturday Night Family Unity:
Lance house went to a movie night at the house of Kate Grey, who is a volunteer math/science tutor at Escuela Caribe, who has 7 children of her own, and still manages to do a Saturday night movie ministry for Dominican kids who live around the Gray house. I think you might be very interested to click here to find out more about this particular evening, in which the movie night was hosted for the local shoe shine boys.
TKB had a Talent Show in which a wide variety of talents were displayed: guitar playing, Jesus rapping, a hip hop dance, and a one man re-enactment of the Civil War (go Jay!)
Sunday afternoon:
Lance house played kickball, baseball and other games involving a ball with the Dominican children who live immediately around the school. You would be AMAZED to see how many kids live right here on the bumpy, little road up to Escuela Caribe.
TKB played basketball in the afternoon for several hours.
Monday Freeday:
Lance house went to school on Monday, but had their free day on Thursday so that they could go to Kascada Park, a Dominican waterpark in Santiago.
TKB made homemade doughnuts and delivered them to all of the campus in the morning. Then they went to a local orphanage, The Ark, and played with the children there. After that, they cooked a meal for Gloria, a widow that lives just beyond the school, and stayed at her house and visited with her in her home. For dinner, they enjoyed Gilberto's, and there was an impromptu "Make up your own Superhero" contest. Among the contestants, were Old Spice Diamond King, Captain Underpants, Dumbest Superhero, Japanese Warrior, Toilet Paper woman, Toothepaste Warrior, and Iron Man/ Iron Woman.
